VAMC Renovate Radiology for Patient Privacy

Lexington, Kentucky

The scope of this project was to update the old outdated finishes in the corridors, waiting rooms, and other spaces throughout the common areas of the imaging department while also reconfiguring the patient waiting and check-in areas to improve the patient experience. Imaging departments are very technology driven areas of healthcare and the old, outdated finishes in the common areas did not reflect the desired image for the department. Along with the new modern finishes, the space also was reconfigured to improve the outpatient and inpatient experience.

The outpatient waiting room was expanded to provide additional seating and wheelchair access. The inpatient holding also benefited greatly with the addition of new patient holding bays that provide a private space for those patients to wait comfortably.
