Just What The Doctor Ordered

University of Kentucky Otolaryngology

University of Kentucky Otolaryngology

Due to a sharp increase in patient load at The University of Kentucky Otolaryngology Clinic, the facility was no longer able to meet the community need. Coupled with a need to accommodate new technological advances in the field, it became apparent that a renovation was in order. JRA Architects, a long-time partner with the University, was asked to help with the expansion and renovation of the space.

Our new design provided much-needed space for the growing ENT and Audiology departments, as well as proximal administrative space for the clinical team. In approximately 15,000 square feet, the clinic now houses twenty-nine treatment rooms including pediatric exam, general exam, and procedure rooms. Other renovated spaces include otology (ear), laryngology (throat), and rhinology (nose) areas that enable patients to receive specialized care. A separate suite within the clinic houses ten acoustically isolated audiology rooms that provide the most advanced diagnostic hearing tests and assessments available today.

By asking the right questions and utilizing our deep healthcare experience, JRA was able to develop improved circulation and functionality of the space which has resulted in better patient care and outcomes.
