University of Louisville Hospital Vascular Lab

The University of Louisville Hospital’s Radiology department takes pride in being an early adopter of emerging technologies to ensure its patients receive the best possible vascular diagnostics. To keep up with the ever-changing technologies, the department asked JRA Architects to redesign its Vascular Lab which included oversight of significant equipment replacement.

The renovated spaces included the procedure room, the control room and two equipment rooms, and while the updates were taking place, we had to ensure that all other lab facilities and procedures remained uninterrupted during construction. The redesigned rooms were outfitted with the latest technologies to afford patients continued world-class care. The lab's “prep & recovery” patient bays were also enlarged to increase efficiency of service, improve patient comfort, and promote faster healing.

Through our collaborative approach with UofL Hospital, JRA was able to capture the needs of the patients and doctors alike to create new, more flexible spaces that will carry the Vascular Lab well into the future.
